Sky Blues to play Manly, free membership for U12

Sydney FC will play Manly United in preseason clash at Cromer Park on Wednesday 16 June.

Together with Manly Warringah Football Association (MWFA) president, Sydney FC Head of Football Stefan Kamasz today announced the Hyundai A-League champions would play Manly United in a preseason clash on Wednesday 16 June and outlined the club-s new Junior Blues membership offer – a free membership to every child aged 12 years and under registered with the MWFA.

Being a Junior Blue will get you FREE entry into every one of Sydney FC-s 15 A-League home games at the Sydney Football Stadium this season with the opening game of the season a mouth watering Grand Final replay against rival Melbourne Victory on Saturday 7 August.

The Sky Blues will take Manly United-s Premier League side at Cromer Park on Wednesday 16 June – their first game since winning the Championship. The match will kick-off at 7pm.

The new Junior Blues initiative from Sydney FC forms part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that the club and the MWFA entered into.

The partnership will provide both organisations with a host of benefits all of which will further strengthen the code in the area.

“We have always had a very strong relationship with Sydney FC and the new agreement makes our bond even stronger,” MWFA President Ray Fanning said.

“We have a few thousand junior players who are eligible for the Junior Blues membership and our Premier League team always looks forward to taking on Sydney FC. A lot of people will come and watch that game.”

The MWFA coaching staff will to meet and exchange ideas with Sydney FC-s championship winning counterparts, attend specific Sydney FC training sessions and have promising young players- trial with the newly established Sydney FC Academy.

The partnership will see the Sky Blues engage with the thousands of junior registered players in the District through clinics, player appearances and match day experiences while also offering discounted ticketing and club merchandise.

Currently, all of the Sydney FC squad is out visiting with local clubs, including midfielder Stuart Musialik who is frequenting club-s the Manly Warringah area.
The MOU commenced on Saturday 1 May 2010.

The MWFA is affiliated with Football NSW (FNSW) and responsible for the administration and development of football within the local government areas around Mosman, Frenchs Forest, Avalon, Manly, Mona Vale and Narrabeen.
