Sydney FC’s W-League stocks have been further bolstered with the return of six more Premiership winners for Season 2021/22.
U20 Player of the Year Taylor Ray, defensive stalwarts Tash Prior and Angelique Hristodoulou, and star midfielders Rachel Lowe, Mackenzie Hawkesby and Charlize Rule will all don Sky Blue this season after committing to Head Coach Ante Juric’s squad.
Taylor Ray, who claimed the U20’s Player of the Year award for Season 2020/21 said she was thrilled to be back for her fifth season with the Sky Blues.
“I’m really excited for the season ahead,” Ray said.
“Sydney FC have shown a lot of faith in me throughout my development and I’m determined to remain faithful to the club and deliver on the pitch.
“We have unfinished business from last season, and I’m really keen to go one better in 2021/22.”
Head Coach Ante Juric welcomed his returning players and said he was expecting another title push in the new season.
“We’ve seen the qualities that Taylor, Tash, Ange, Rachel, Mackenzie and Charlize possess, and our squad will be all the more stronger this season with these girls returning,” Juric said.
“I’m really pleased with where we’re at in our recruitment process, and with a couple more signings we’ll be a force in 2021/22.
“I’d like to congratulate all the girls on re-signing with the club and I can’t wait to begin training and our Premiership defence.”
The signings of Taylor Ray, Tash Prior, Angelique Hristodoulou, Rachel Lowe, Mackenzie Hawkesby and Charlize Rule bring Sydney FC’s W-League squad to 14 players.
Sydney FC expect to make more signings in the next few weeks, ahead of the squad returning for training in October.
