Sydney FC Westfield W-League star Remy Siemsen says she’s out for redemption in 2020/21, with the Manly junior holding desires to go one better than their runners up finish last season.

Kicking off the season with a massive Grand Final rematch at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on December 30, the 2019/20 Golden Boot said she’s confident of claiming maximum points in Round 1 following a solid preseason with the Sky Blues.

“I’m very excited to kick off the season with a Grand Final rematch,” she said.

“We were obviously very bitter losing the Grand Final last year.

“It was a really close game but I feel like we’ve had a really good preseason. We’re all feeling fit and ready and we want the three points to start the season off on a positive note.

“We have a really strong squad this season and we’ve said from the get go that we want to be lifting that trophy at the end of the season.

“We fell one short last year against Melbourne City in the Grand Final and we’re coming for redemption this year,” she continued.

“We have a really good dynamic in the squad this year and I’m hoping we can get the job done.”

News of stadium capacity restrictions being lifted was news to Siemsen’s ears, and she called on the Sky Blues’ faithful to turnout in their droves what should be a blockbuster opening encounter at Kogarah.

“There’s a lot of Australian’s who’ve been biting their nails waiting to get out and watch some live sport,” Siemsen said.

“I believe our first game of the season, being a double header, it’ll be a packed out stadium and hopefully we’ll have a few fans out earlier to cheer us on ahead of the men’s game.

“I think it’ll be a good atmosphere, Jubilee really creates that good atmosphere to help us get the win each week.

“Our Members and fans mean the world to us, they encourage us to play and be better and spur us on to get the win each week. I hope we can make them proud this season and go one better.”
