Sydney FC-s annual shirt auction has raised more than $16,000 thanks to the generosity of Sky Blues Members and fans, with proceeds going to help the Children-s Medical Research Institute.

The specially designed jerseys were all worn by the Sydney FC team in our 2-1 win over Brisbane Roar in February, before being put up for auction on the Sydney FC website – sydneyfc.com.

All 15 of the one-off Community strips were signed by the players after the game.

“We were delighted with the response to the auction,” said Sydney FC Chief Executive Tony Pignata.

“The amount of money raised was excellent and to know it will benefit a truly magnificent cause makes it all worthwhile.”

The number 10 shirt worn by Sydney FC striker Alessandro Del Piero, who scored the first goal of the game, raised the most money with a bid of $4,800 securing the jersey.

Brett Emerton-s number 7 shirt recorded the second highest bid with $1,420 going towards the final total while the 26 shirt worn by match winner Peter Triantis also received a four figure sum – $1,080.
