Robert Stambolziev joined Sydney FC as an injury replacement player in the January transfer window of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season. Stambolziev has spent the last eight years of his career playing in Europe beginning in the youth team at English club Bristol City before moving to Greek giants Panathinaikos in 2009 and finishing up at Niki Volos in the Greek Super League. The youngster became Head Coach Graham Arnold’s third signing of the month and plays as a left sided midfielder. On 16 June 2015, Stambolziev re-signed with the Sky Blues for a further season and will be looking to build on his nine appearances and one goal from the 14/15 season.
