Sydney FC attacker Robert Mak has once again performed on the international stage, netting in a 3-0 victory for Slovakia.
The Sydney FC number 11 flew over to his home nation for two UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifying matches against Portugal and Liechtenstein. Mak sat out of the 1-0 loss to Portugal on Saturday morning but started against the six smallest nation in the world.
Slovakia raced out to a 1-0 lead within the opening 11 seconds and doubled it not long after, turning home a Robert Mak corner. With nine minutes on the clock, Robert Mak was found inside the box and he controlled the ball on his chest and volleyed it past the on-rushing keeper to give his country a 3-0 lead.
No more goals would follow, but Mak had another impressive game in a Slovakian shirt, having 41 touches across a 70 minute stint and completing 86% of his passes.
Robert will now fly back to Australia where he will be looking to find the net once again in the Australia Cup Quarter Final against Western United on Sunday afternoon at Leichhardt Oval. Grab your tickets here, for this clash.
