Sydney FC goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne will miss one match following his red card against Macarthur FC in Saturday night’s Isuzu-UTE A-League clash.
Following a VAR review in the 15th minute of the game, referee Daniel Elder adjudged the Sky Blues keeper to be denying the opposing team an obvious goal-scoring opportunity, which is an offence punishable by a red card.
The Match Review Panel (MRP) have determined he will serve the mandatory one match sentence with no additional matches required to be served.
It means Redmayne will miss Saturday’s trip to Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park and be available for selection the following week on Saturday 23rd December for the clash with Western United at Allianz Stadium (7.45pm).
His absence will open up an opportunity for young goalkeepers Adam Pavlesic and Gus Hoefsloot to fight for the vacant spot between the sticks.
