Sydney FC defender Daniel Petkovski has raised the stakes ahead of Saturday-s National Youth League clash against Adelaide United at Wollongong-s WIN Stadium, declaring he expects the team “to make it four wins from four.”
The young Sky Blues are undefeated this season scoring six goals conceding one, and Petkovski believes the forward line that Sydney FC possess will prove to be the difference.
“We-ve got some great attackers in our side who are good at penetrating down and behind the lines of the opposition,” Petkovski said.
“We-ll make sure we all know our roles and have a positive mindset going into the game.”
Petkovski, who scored Sydney FC-s winner with a 56th minute header last week, praised the teamwork of the young Sky Blues but is not getting carried away with the undefeated start.
“Teamwork plays a huge part in our wins. We-ve got a great bunch of boys who work for one another and know what their job is.
“It would be good to go undefeated all season but there is going to come a time when you have to accept the fact you might lose one or two.
“Right now we are just taking it game by game. We-re training really hard and taking things that we did well last week into this week. It-s all looking positive.”
This Saturday-s double header at WIN Stadium Wollongong also features the Sydney FC Foxtel NYL team against Adelaide United which kicks off at 12.15pm, while the Westfield W-League game is a 3pm start. Sydney FC Members are allowed free access while tickets are on the gate costing $10 for adults and $5 juniors / concession.
