The Australian U23 have kicked off their AFC U23 Asian Cup campaign with a 0-0 draw against Jordan.
Jordan Courtney-Perkins started for the Olyroos against the Jordanians at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha.
Australia was dominant in possession in the opening exchanges as Jordan made their intention to sit back in defence and play on the counter attack.
Things began to open up in the second half as the Aussies created the best of their opportunities on goal, in the face of desperate defence from Jordan.
The Jordanians navigated the final 13 plus injury time with ten players after a second yellow card to Daniel Afaneh, however despite several chances in the dying stages, Australia had to settle for a point.
The Olyroos will next face Indonesia on Thursday 18th April at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.
Jake Girdwood-Reich was an unused substitute while Adrian Segecic entered the contest i the 69th minute.
