They’re the first team to become Hyundai A-League Premiers in consecutive seasons and now Milos Ninkovic wants Sydney FC to seal an unprecedented treble.

The Sky Blues warmed up for the 2018 Finals Series by edging Melbourne Victory 1-0 on Friday night for a 20th win from 27 rounds.

With this season’s Premiers Plate now sitting alongside the FFA Cup in the trophy cabinet, Ninkovic is ready to make it a hat-trick of silverware.

“I said before the season we can be better than last season,” the reigning Johnny Warren Medal Winner told Fox Sports.

“To win three trophies [is the target]. We’ve already won the FFA Cup, the Premiers [Plate] and we need one more.”

While midfielder Ninkovic is looking ahead, veteran defender Alex Wilkinson is prepared to at least briefly savour the moment.

“It’s a great achievement to win the Premiership,” Wilkinson said.

Sydney FC Premiers

“It’s very hard to win, to be the most consistent team over 27 rounds.

“Being able to do it back-to-back now is a really proud moment for the club and all the players.”

Wilkinson was integral to Sydney FC completing a complete sweep of fierce rivals Victory on Friday night as his two goal-line clearances preserved the slim win, the second a brilliant read of Leroy George’s finish.

The 33-year-old said he was simply relieved not to put a dampener on the celebrations at Allianz Stadium.

“I didn’t know if [the second clearance] had gone in or not. Once they got through I just got back as quick as I could and luckily I didn’t kick it into the net for an own goal!”

There’s more to come on Tuesday night as the Sky Blues go after a place in the AFC Champions League Round of 16 at Allianz Stadium!! Be there to back your history making Sky Blues!
