A week is a long time in the Westfield W-League. Seven days ago Newcastle Jets were still searching for their first win while Sydney FC were a perfect three-from-three.

But both of those streaks are now over after the weekend, with the Jets knocking off Perth Glory 2-1, while the Sky Blues were narrowly defeated by Melbourne City by the same score.

It makes this clash to complete Round 5 on Sunday an intriguing affair.

The Jets have proven to be a tough side to break down so far in 2019/20, with Craig Deans’ young side showing excellent discipline and tenacity.

They’ll need to show all that and a little more against Sydney FC, whose attacking stars like Remy Seimsen, Caitlin Foord, Princes Ibini and Sofia Huerta have been in strong form all season.
