New Year Resolution Tips

A difficult couple of weeks has left us at a “tipping point” for this season. It is imperative that we now start to collect much needed points during the following 5 games in January. We have a very full schedule in January but these challenges are an opportunity for our club to shine.

The New Year always brings resolutions and the number one resolution is always people hoping to decrease weight. However, a major problem with this is that too often resolutions are wishes with no structured method to achieve the wish.

Losing weight is never easy but it-s important to get back to the basics.

Often the media and advertising gets in the way of the reality that people put on weight because there is an imbalance between the energy consumed (food) and the energy required for daily life. Basically we eat too much and if we decrease the amount we eat we can be successful. I know its not easy but in my experience the only way to lose weight is to aggressively decrease the amount you consume.

If you ever need some advice please just send me an email and I will do my best to help you to get on the right path.

Another interesting aspect of the New year is that Sydney FC is running holiday clinics for children and youth.

We have run the holiday clinics for a few years but excitingly this year we have a high performance clinic for the older children. This will be an advanced version of our clinics and I will have an involvement in educating the players about the human performance aspect of football. Ian Crook (youth team coach) will also be involved and will look to identify players that we will monitor throughout their youth.

Hope to see you at the SFS soon and best wishes for 2012.
