They-re building a firm partnership on the field but it-s their friendship off the pitch that Michael Beauchamp and Pascal Bosschaart believe is cementing their defensive bond.
The Dutchman and the Australian international have become good friends since both arriving at Sydney FC during the off-season.
“We-ve got three new players at the back there, myself Pascal and Coyney. I feel we-re getting a good friendship on and off the park and it-s showing when we go to play on the weekend. It-s really coming through that we believe in each other and as a club we-re doing really well,” explains Beauchamp.
“Off the field you-ve got the friendship so you know when you-re on the field you-re definitely going to put everything in for each other. Myself and Pascal room together and have a bit of a laugh so when we do go out we really feel we can back each other up.”
The pair will come up against one of Bosschaart-s fellow countryman in Gold Coast striker Maceo Righters on Sunday afternoon, a player he has faced before in Holland.
“I think I won all the games against him but it-s a new game and we will see, with Michael next to me I think we-re doing a good job.”
