Sydney FC midfielder Terry McFlynn has made a long awaited return to the training field and says he-s looking forward to making up for lost time.

After spending four rounds on the sidelines with a groin strain McFlynn is making his return ahead of the six to eight week schedule that he was initially diagnosed with.

“We-ve worked really hard, the medical staff and myself to get back. The main thing was obviously getting the injury right and getting some strength back in my leg,” said McFlynn.

“Knowing you can have no input on the game and can-t help your teammates is always disappointing when you-re on the sideline.

“My focus was always to get back fit and healthy and help anyway I can.”

McFlynn was also jubilant at being able to integrate with the Sky Blues squad again and comes into contention for the Melbourne Victory game.

“It-s always a good feeling coming back from injury, getting back in with the boys and seeing all the players again. I-m really pleased and happy to be back.

“My main aim now is to remain fit and healthy for the rest of the season.”

Three points and nothing else will do for McFlynn against the Victory, with the Sky Blues- vice-captain believing the backing of the Members and fans is crucial in helping Sydney FC achieving that aim.

“There-s no better place to start getting points on the board,” McFlynn said.

“It-s always great to play at Allianz Stadium in front of what I think are the best home supporters in the country.

“It-s something the players look forward to and when the Cove and Sydney FC supporters are behind us the results seem to follow.

“I hope they come out in their numbers like the last home game and support us in what should be another passionate ‘Big Blue-.”
