Sydney FC coach Vitezslav Lavicka looks set to make defensive changes to his side to play the Central Coast Mariners at the Sydney Football Stadium this afternoon.

The Czech coach believes it-s time to revert to new options after leaking ten goals in the last three games.

“If you have a look at how many goals we conceded in the last three games then this is the time to do it,” he said.

“We conceded many goals but there is not only a defending back four or goalkeeping problem, we have to improve defensively as a unit, as a team, everybody together.”

Sydney will welcome back midfielders Nicky Carle and Karol Kisel to the team as they look to banish the league leaders after a disappointing Christmas period.

“When I look back I think we didn-t pick up the points we expected, but we played part of the games [with] quite good quality football.

“But without the product, without the points, without the victory there-s no satisfaction.”
