Ins & Outs | Striker ruled out with broken foot

Ahead of the Friday afternoon and evening clashes at Allianz Stadium, the two Sydney FC squads have been submitted.

Unfortunately, one striker will miss out due to injury while another returns from illness.

Men’s

Last week after a 4-2 victory over Western United, Ufuk Talay has named a very similar squad for this week’s challenge of Wellington Phoenix.

After becoming sick on matchday last week, Jaiden Kucharski is included in the extended squad this time out and he will be looking to add more goals to his tally after doing so well and being pegged back by injury earlier this campaign.

Matty Scarcella ad Zac De Jesus are also included in the extended squad having missed out last weekend and will be itching to cement their spot in the matchday squad as they did earlier this season.

Unfortunately for Corey Hollman, he misses this week due to illness and Wataru Kamijo also remains sidelined with a back issue that won’t be sorted until the turn of the year.

Women’s

This week, Ante Juric has the same squad at his disposal for the task of Wellington Phoenix however he will be without his striker Shea Connors after she picked up an injury in training last week.

The American was named in the extended squad for last week’s match against Brisbane however picked up a an injury on the Thursday prior to the match. Later scans confirmed a break in the foot and she is expected to miss a number of weeks and isn’t expected back until late January or February.

Otherwise, Juric has a full squad at his disposal minus the long term injuries of Nat Tobin and Lucy Johnson who remain on the treatment table and doing the rehab with a knee and foot injury respectively.

Teigan Collister, Sienna Saveska, Abbey Lemon and Indiana Dos Santos are all included in the extended 20 player squad and will be looking to gain a foot-hold in the 16 on matchday.
