Ins & Outs | Squads submitted for away trips

Sydney FC Men & Women are away from home this weekend and have named their squads for the trips to Brisbane and the Mariners respectively.

Men’s

Ufuk Talay has named a strong side for the journey up north to take on Brisbane under the guidance of their new coach Ben Cahn.

He welcomes Corey Hollman back into the squad after he missed out last week due to illness.

Matthew Scarcella is also promoted into the extended squad for the trip up north.

Importantly, despite limping off last weekend, Anthony Caceres is included in the team with Ufuk Talay claiming he will be touch and go for Saturday night’s clash in his pre-match press conference.

Women’s

After playing out a 1-1 draw with Canberra United on Wednesday night, the Sky Blues have a quick turnaround before playing the Central Coast Mariners on Sunday afternoon at Gosford.

With plenty on the injured list at the moment, Juric will be thankful that no more have joined that unwanted group following the Canberra clash at Leichhardt Oval.

Cortnee Vine did miss out against United after picking up a calf injury in training, however she has been named in the extended squad for the short trip up the M1 with Juric hopeful on her recovery.

Sadly, it was confirmed that Fiona Worts is ruled out for at least three months after rupturing her lateral collateral ligament. She joins Nat Tobin on the long term injury list and we hope that we see Fiona back out there at the latter end of the season.

Lucy Johnson and Shea Connors remain out but are making progress in their rehab. Johnson has returned to some light running after her foot injury she picked up against Adelaide and Connors has been doing work in the gym despite being on crutches.
