Sydney FC Confirm Three A-League Women Departures

Sydney FC can confirm Abbey Lemon, Caley Tallon-Henniker and Sofia Fante will depart the club ahead of the Ninja A-League Women 2026-27 season.

Lemon leaves the Sky Blues after four seasons with the club, having made 63 appearances since her debut in November 2022, including 41 starts.

The versatile 24-year-old defender / forward was part of one of the most successful periods in Sydney FC Women’s history, helping the Sky Blues win back-to-back Championships in 2023 and 2024 as well as the 2022-23 Premiership.

Winger Tallon-Henniker also departs following three seasons in Sky Blue. The 20-year old forward made 43 appearances for Sydney FC after debuting in November 2023, scoring four goals during her time with the club and winning the Championship in 2024.

Young goalkeeper Sofia Fante will also leave the club after being part of the Sky Blues’ senior squad during the 2025-26 campaign. 18-year old Fante was named among the substitutes on two occasions but did not make her senior debut.

Sydney FC Women’s Head Coach James Slaveski thanked all three players for their contribution.

“Abbey, Caley and Sofia have all been fantastic members of our group and I’d like to thank them for everything they have given to Sydney FC,” he said.

“Abbey and Caley have both spent a number of years at the club and contributed to some memorable moments and successes, while Sofia is a talented young goalkeeper who has worked extremely hard within our environment.

“They have been excellent teammates and professionals, and everyone at Sydney FC wishes them every success with the next chapters of their careers.”
