Ins & Outs | One back for each

Ahead of the Round 16 clashes with Central Coast and Melbourne City, both Head Coaches have submitted their extended squad.

Our Men and Women each see a new name in the Ins this week.

Men

Ufuk Talay has named a very similar squad to last week’s visit to Tasmania in a 2-2 draw with Western United.

After missing out due to suspension last weekend, Pat Wood returns to the squad for the trip up the M1 to take on the Mariners.

Jack Rodwell, Wataru Kamijo and Joel King have all recommenced training on pitch and are all still working their way back to fitness and near a return in the coming weeks.

Aaron Gurd is still a month off as he recovers from his fractured leg.

Zac De Jesus is also included in the extended squad as a solid defensive option.

Women’s

Ante Juric has found success with his squad so there is no surprise that he names a very similar squad after last week’s 3-1 victory over Perth Glory.

Fresh after selection in the Matildas squad, Cortnee Vine and Jada Whyman are included in the 20 player list and will be looking to continue their good form before heading into International Camp.

We also finally see the return of one from the injured list with Lucy Johnson recovering from her ankle ligament injury to make the extended squad for the first time since the 19th of November when she was substituted off against Adelaide United. The midfielder will find it tough to get into the squad with the midfield trio purring at the moment.

Shea Connors should be expected back within the next week or two after her broken foot, while Nat Tobin and Fiona Worts remain long term injuries.
