It was business as usual at Sydney FC-s Macquarie Park training ground this morning as the players got back into training following a post season mini-break.
The boys were given two weeks off after the A-League Grand Final, to rest their bodies before returning for stage one of their pre-season training.
“It was a bit of a blow,” said Rhyan Grant. “A couple of the boys were struggling a bit towards the end, but it was good fun to get back into it and I-m glad to be back.
The defender was one of eleven of the first team squad returning as the squad look maintain their fitness over the long off-season.
“[The best bit was] catching up with the boys,” he continued.
“I know it was only a short break, we were away for a couple of weeks so it was good to get back for a bit of banter with the boys and have a bit of a runaround.”
Most of of the players stayed on Australian soil during the short time away, however that wasn-t the case for Grant.
“I went to the USA with Scotty Jamieson,” said the Young Socceroo.
“We went over there for ten days and went to LA and New York and had a look around. We did a bit of sight-seeing and had a bit of fun.
“I-ve been once before with football which wasn-t as exciting. We didn-t get to go out and have a look around so it was good to see the touristy bits.”
And as for the best bits?
“I suppose being at the top of the Rockefeller building, and looking across the city and Central Park was pretty amazing.”
