Sydney FC and Beechwood Homes’ ‘Goals For Charity’ proved a big hit in Season 2017/18, with the Sky Blues’ Premium Partner raising $37,000 in total.

With Sky Blue star Bobô in red hot form, netting 27 goals in 27 games, charities beyondblue, Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, Autism Spectrum, World’s Greatest Shave and Football United all benefited as the back of the net was found repeatedly.

The generous initiative between the club and Premium Partner was launched at the start of the season with a different charity selected each month benefitting when the Sky Blues scored both at home and away.

Beechwood Homes’ pledge was to donate $500 for each goal scored, and $1,000 where the Sky Blues score against the Wanderers in the Sydney Derby.

Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Danny Townsend thanked Beechwood Homes for their support this season.

“Beechwood have been a fantastic partner this season and this initiative has proved highly successful,” Townsend said.

“It’s pleasing to see so many charities benefit from something we take for granted, and our only wish would have been to score even more goals and further help these causes.”

Beechwood Homes Managing Director Vic Cavasinni said the initiative was a great hit this season.

“Sydney FC certainly set the benchmark for goalscoring this season and we’re thrilled to be able to donate the amount we have,” he said.

“It’s been a joy to watch the Sky Blues this season and we’re glad to be able to aid such worthy charities with these donations.”

Sydney FC’s Hyundai A-League squad will now break for the offseason, before returning for preseason training in July.
