Sydney FC-s match scheduled for Sunday 21 November 2010 (3pm kick-off) against the Perth Glory at the Sydney Football Stadium has been moved to Parramatta Stadium in order for essential returfing to take place at the Sky Blues home ground.

Originally scheduled to take place in early October, a 22-day window has now been created between Monday 8 November and Wednesday 1 December where there will be no football on the SFS pitch.

Before the 2010/11 Hyundai A-League season commenced, each club knew when its 15 home games would be but after a decision was made to put an international friendly at the SFS on Saturday 9 October the club was forced out of its home venue.

“It is not ideal to move away from your home stadium during the season however we have an outstanding relationship with Parramatta Stadium. The facilities there are fantastic and the pitch is world class.

“Having a quality pitch is an integral component to any successful football club so the returfing is essential. From December 1 we still have five games at the SFS and we need the pitch to be in prime condition.

“There has been extensive use of the SFS pitch recently so it-s crucial the returfing occurs.”

It will be the second straight season the Sky Blues have hosted Perth at Parramatta Stadium. Sydney FC beat Perth 3-2 on Sunday 7 February in 2010 with the crucial win setting up the club-s memorable showdown with Melbourne Victory the following weekend that decided the 2009/10 A-League premiership.

“We are looking forward to playing in the heart of Western Sydney again,” Lugt said.

“We received great support from the local community in February so we encourage them to again come out and see the current A-League Champions play as well as a Perth side that contains Robbie Fowler.”

The kick-off time of 3pm will remain the same.

Tickets are available from Ticketek.
