The updated schedule gives certainty to Members and fans with the final third of the season now locked in.
Sydney FC’s Chief Executive Officer Danny Townsend said: “It’s been an extraordinary season so far complicated by Covid-19 restrictions, border closures and rain cancellations.
“The A-Leagues have had to reschedule 88 games, so I’m pleased we can now give our Members and fans clarity over the remaining fixtures.
“There’s going to be a lot of football to look forward to in the next few weeks which is exciting and a lot of hard work for Steve and the players.
“The world is getting back to normal and we want to see as many supporters back inside the grounds enjoying our final matches at both Leichhardt Oval and Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, before our move back to the Sydney Football Stadium next year.”
In total Sydney FC will play 14 games in seven weeks ahead of the Finals Series which is due to begin in mid-May with the Isuzu Ute A-League Grand Final to be held on the final weekend of that month.
The reason for the hectic schedule is because the Sky Blues need to complete most of their A-League Men’s campaign before a three-week trip to Vietnam to play the AFC Champions League Group stage.
The six matches in Vietnam take place between April 16th and May 1st, after which Sydney FC will return to Australia to finish their A-League matches ahead of Finals which starts in the second week of May.
Head Coach Steve Corica said: “It’s a tough schedule, particularly with international call ups, but we are up for the challenge, and it will make a huge difference to our campaign to have our Members and fans inside the stadiums backing us.
“It’s pretty much two games a week from here on, so there’s plenty of football for our fans to enjoy and come and help our end of season push.”
