ESFA and Sydney FC kicking goals

That is what the Eastern Suburbs Football Association (ESFA) will receive from Hyundai A-League 2010 Champions Sydney FC after the organisations today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Sydney FC-s Head of Football Stefan Kamasz and ESFA President Peter Hennessy and General Manager Jeff Saul formalised the three-year agreement which is headlined by Sydney FC providing every child aged 12 years and under registered with ESFA with a FREE Bronze membership to the club.

ESFA coaching staff will have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with Sydney FC-s championship winning coaching staff, attend Sydney FC training and have promising young players- trial with the newly established Sydney FC Academy.

The agreement will also allow the Sky Blues to engage with the thousands of junior registered players in the Eastern Suburbs through clinics, player appearances and match day experiences while also offering discounted ticketing and club merchandise.

The bodies will also play matches against each other, providing budding stars with a chance to play against many of the A-League’s finest.

Currently, Sydney FC players are visiting clubs within the Eastern Suburbs area and are distributing all the necessary information on how to become a ‘Junior Blue- member.

Saul said that the initiative from Sydney FC will put a lot of smiles on kids and parents faces alike.

“We are extremely happy to have entered into this agreement with Sydney FC because it will help our entire association. It is mutually beneficial relationship so both parties will take a lot out of it,” Saul said.

“The free membership is a fantastic initiative and I know our coaches will be looking forward to meeting with Vitezslav Lavicka and his staff and learning from them.

“The new agreement also provides our juniors with a pathway to the top.

“The relationship really will benefit our association for many, many years.”

The ESFA is affiliated with Football NSW (FNSW) and responsible for the administration and development of football within the local government areas around and including Bondi, Mascot, Redfern and the Eastern Suburbs.

The MOU commenced on Saturday 1 May 2010.
