Brett Emerton will make his Sky Blues debut against Perth Glory at WIN Jubilee Stadium (Kogarah) on Saturday 24 September on the 2011/12 Sydney FC Fan Day.
As part of the Annual Fan Day, Sydney FC fans who have “Become a Citizen” by signing up for a 2011/12 Membership either before September 24 or outside WIN Jubilee, will be given free entry to the ground for what is shaping as a tremendous Pre Season Celebration.
WIN Jubilee has been selected as the venue for the match, as it sits right in the middle of what market research has illustrated is Sydney FC-s most populous fan and Member base. The match kicks off at 3pm.
“Fan Day is an important part of our Pre Season calendar and now that it-s coinciding with Brett Emerton-s debut it is going to be a truly memorable day for our fans and Members,” said Sydney FC CEO Dirk Melton.
“We would love nothing more than a sea of Sky Blue to greet Brett the first time he pulls on a Sydney FC shirt. For those who become a Sydney FC Member before September 24 or outside the ground, the day will be free of charge.”
The Pre Season match is the second Sydney FC fixture to be played at WIN Jubilee after Sydney FC played NSW State League side St George in a Pre Season friendly earlier this month, and is a continuation of what will be a closer tie to the famous ground.
Sydney FC will also play some National Youth League (NYL) and W-League fixtures at WIN Jubilee during the 2011/12 season and beyond and the friendly against St George will become an annual event.
“WIN Jubilee is a good fit for our fans and Members so we will be rewarding those fans with more games,” Melton said. “We played St George a few weeks ago and the facilities were fantastic, the playing surface is outstanding and we will be playing NYL, W-League and the St George friendly on a regular basis.”
