Sydney FC Head Coach Frank Farina has said he won-t tinker too much with a winning side as the Sky Blues prepare for Friday night-s clash against Melbourne Heart at AAMI Park (kick of 7:30pm).

The Sky Blues comprehensively beat Melbourne Victory 5-0, with central midfielders Hagi Gligor and Terry McFlynn having 100% pass accuracy, and Farina was pleased with the overall performance as he targeted consistency as the key factor in claiming their second win, in a week, in the Victorian capital.

“Last weekend was great but we have to find that consistency and try to back that up again this week,” Farina said.

“We-ve had two trips to Melbourne this year and both have been quite pleasant ones so hopefully it will be a third time as well.

“The key is consistency and if we can manage that then we-ll make it.

“It would be hard to make changes to the team. The only thing you have to look at is the short turn around, with Friday,” he continued.

“Mentally we-ll see how people are. Normally it-s difficult to change a winning side, we-re forced to with Terry being out, but everyone is performing well so I don-t think there will be too many changes.”

One of the Sky Blues revelations in recent weeks has been youngster Hagi Gligor and Farina heaped praise on the young Socceroo but challenged him to not let his game drop.

“He-s improved. Last year I think he only got one start and came off the bench a few times,” Farina said.

“He-s a good young player, he-s very down to earth, I think he-s good on the ball and he-s taken his chance since he got in against Adelaide.

“Unfortunately he went away for those two weeks [at the U-22 Asian Championships] but he-s taken the chance now and he-s doing well.

“As long as he keeps performing with the consistency that he-s showing, he-ll keep playing.”
