Deborah-Anne de la Harpe selected for Republic of Ireland

Following on from the exciting news of Cortnee Vine scoring a stunning goal in the Matildas victory over Spain in the Cup of Nations, we are delighted to announce that Deborah-Anne de la Harpe has been a late inclusion to the Irish squad for this FIFA International Break, earning her, her FIRST senior international call up.

Having Irish roots, the Sydney FC defender who previously represented Australia at a junior level, jumped at the chance to play for a country very close to her heart.

Speaking to the Irish media, de la Harpe was ready to take the opportunity with both hands.

“It feels amazing. Honestly, I’m still pinching myself.

“I’m so honoured to be here and be part of a great group of girls,” de la Harpe said.

“To be here right now is a privilege and I just want to play my best football and continue just enjoying playing.”

Deborah-Anne will return to Ante Juric’s side for the test of Wellington Phoenix away this weekend and will be hoping to maintain her spot in the side as she pushes for a place at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
