Rising Sydney FC star, Kofi Danning has been cleared of serious injury after being forced from the field following a heavy knock late in the Sky Blues- trial win over Manly United this week at Cromer Park.

The young striker suffered a corked right quad in the incident but is recovering well and will return to full training with the Sydney squad on Monday.

Danning is expected to be fit to take his place in the team when Sydney FC lines up against State Premier League leader, Sydney United next week at Edensor Park.

The Sky Blues will be out to stretch their pre-season winning streak to seven games when they take the field in the highly anticipated friendly clash.

The trial kicks off at 7:30pm next Tuesday at the Sydney United Sports Centre.

The match will provide a perfect warm up for Sydney FC, which will host Hyundai A-League newcomer, the North Queensland Fury in an official friendly in Cronulla next Saturday. The June 27 contest kicks off at Shark Park at 7:00pm and tickets are now on sale through all Ticketek outlets.
