Sydney FC Head Coach says his side will be ready for a tough clash with the Newcastle Jets when they face each other at Allianz Stadium this Saturday evening.
A large crowd is expected in anticipation of Sydney FC-s first home game of the season and Crook believes they will see a good spectacle with the hype surrounding new marquees Emile Heskey and Alessandro Del Piero part of the atmosphere.
“I think they [Newcastle] will be a good side. They keep the ball well. They-ll have to learn to play with Heskey and him likewise but I think they-ll be a very competitive side and an extremely difficult game for us,” he said.
Crook isn-t looking to change much about the way the team plays and is confident the players will bounce back from the defeat at Wellington.
“I don-t want to throw the baby out of the bath water,” he said. “We set out to try and achieve something in terms of our play but we didn-t execute it too well so I-m not going to change my philosophy on the back of one game.”
Doors open at Allianz Stadium at 3:30pm on Saturday with the start of the UNICEF Celebrity Charity Game. The Hyundai A-League match between Sydney FC and the Newcastle Jets kicks off at 5:30pm.
