Corica eyes changes ahead of FFA Cup match

Sydney FC coach Steve Corica is eyeing a couple of changes to his side after the latest disruption to the season hit his side earlier today after a Sydney FC player tested positive for Covid-19.

“It’s been a disruptive start to the season so far, we’ve had a number of injuries and this is the next thing that’s happened which is unfortunate.”

“We’ve been able to train today, and we’ve had our Covid test straight after training so now we’re isolating until the match tomorrow.”

“Obviously we want to play and hopefully it goes ahead so we can get on with our season.”

With Wednesday’s FFA Cup match against the Macarthur Bulls approaching as well as Sunday’s match against the Mariners, Corica is looking to make a few changes to his side.

“There will be a few changes to the starting lineup, we’ll bring in some fresh legs but having said that we have a decent turnaround, we played Saturday and have the game on Wednesday and then we head into the game on Sunday so that gives the players enough time to recover.”

“It’s nice to get to freshen up the squad and give some players a chance and keep everyone on their toes.”

Kosta Barbarouses is in line to make his first start of the season for Sydney FC while Trent Buhagiar could return to the starting lineup. James Donachie could make his debut for the club after he was an unused substitute against the Jets on Saturday.
