Sydney FC Head Coach Steve Corica said he’s excited by the Sky Blues’ Hyundai A-League 2019/20 fixtures, as the new draw was revealed today.

In Corica’s second season at the helm, the squad will contest 10 games at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium and three games at Leichhardt Oval in a new look 29 round draw, that also features three byes as a result of the introduction of Western United.

“I’m excited by the path in front of us as we look to defend our Hyundai A-League title,” Corica said.

“Adelaide has become a blockbuster opening to the season and I’m looking forward to heading back to Coopers Stadium again in round one.

“The boys thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and level of support at Jubilee and it’s great to have a few more games there this season. Our games last season at Leichhardt were enjoyable too and we’re looking forward to returning there.

“Overall it’s sure to be an exciting season and I can’t wait to get started.”

Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Danny Townsend said there was plenty on offer for the Sky Blues’ Members and fans in 2019/20.

“Netstrata Jubilee Stadium and Leichhardt Oval were fantastic home stadiums last season and we’re thrilled to bring Sky Blue to these venues again this season,” he said.

“Between our first home game on a Sunday evening at Leichhardt, our home #BigBlue at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, a #SydneyDerby also in Kogarah and Western United’s arrival to our home, there’s plenty to get excited about.

“To have five fixtures at home, and more away, all kicking off in the afternoon ensures all our junior Members and families get to enjoy the reigning Champions in action.

“I can’t wait to get the new season underway and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in Sky Blue at Leichhardt and Jubilee as we look to defend our title.”

Sydney FC kick off the new season away from home in an always classic clash, facing Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium in a Friday night blockbuster on October 11, and round out the season away against Melbourne City on April 26.
