Sydney FC midfield star Chloe Logarzo is set to make the switch to FA Women’s Super League club Bristol City, as the latest Matilda to grace England’s top flight.

Logarzo will move for a transfer fee once the Matildas’ qualification matches for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in China are over, with the Sky Blues set to complete a move for an overseas FIFA Women’s World Cup player in the coming days.

Logarzo has spent six and a half seasons with the Sky Blues and won two Westfield W-League Championships, while she has over 40 caps for her country.

“I just want to say thank you to Sydney FC for all of the years of fantastic football they’ve given me,” she said.

“I’ve played with some amazing people and played under some fabulous coaches and members of staff.

“I’d like to thank and credit them for helping me to achieve this opportunity to play professionally in England.

“I leave with a heavy heart but only to improve my game, and I would love to think that I will be back one day to represent the girls in Sky Blue again.”

With the Westfield W-League finishing next month, the former Young Matildas’ captain will now receive regular game time until the end of May, as she looks to win a spot in Ante Milicic’s squad for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in July.

Head Coach Ante Juric believes Logarzo has earned the right to play in Europe.

“Chloe has been a fabulous player for Sydney FC over the years and has given everything for the Sky Blue shirt.

“In particular, her performances last season played a big role in our Championship success and she is fully deserving of this terrific opportunity to play full-time in England.

“I’d like to place on record my thanks to Chloe for her commitment and endeavours in my time over the last two years, and also to the club during her six and a half years here.”

Logarzo has played 75 times for Sydney FC in the Westfield W-League and scored 12 goals.

Sydney FC’s next Westfield W-League match is the home Sydney Derby at Cromer Park on Saturday 15th February.
