Captain’s Column: Looking For 5 Unbeaten

header

Hi Everyone,

I’d like to start by sending my best wishes to anyone who’s recently been affected by the extreme weather conditions, I hope you’re safe and well.

Looking back on last night’s game against Perth Glory, I think we deserved more than a draw. We showed aggression in the first half and I think we were unlucky not to go in one up at least, at half time.

Going into the changing rooms a goal down was obviously disappointing, but it wasn’t a true reflection of the game at that point. I have to commend the lads for fighting for a point however. Playing away in Perth isn’t an easy task, but I believe we have the ability to win these games.

Four games unbeaten though is very positive. We’ve been very good in the second half of the season so far and as we continue to build momentum, I know goals and wins will follow.

The squad is headed down to Adelaide now. Not being at home for two games in a row is a tough ask but given the border restrictions I think the lads understand that this season is obviously very unique.

We’ve got a couple days to relax and prepare for our Sunday fixture against Adelaide United. A very strong opponent especially when they’re at home at Coopers Stadium, but I know the lads will be up for it as we look to make it five games unbeaten on the fly.

I know you’ll be watching on from home supporting us in your Sky Blue which will be a great moral boost for the lads. Can’t wait to be back playing at home in front of you all!
