Captain’s Column: Changing Performances

header

Hi everyone,

I trust you’re all well, and that with your winter seasons in full swing you enjoy a successful 2021.

While your seasons are just kicking off, we’re reaching the pointy end of ours and at this stage every point is vital in the race for the Finals Series.

The last two weeks have been disappointing for various reasons. Against the Wanderers, while the result hurt we could take pride from our performance, however against the Jets we simply didn’t perform to the standard set by this club and that was tough.

We’ve been hard at work this week to rectify things and deliver a performance on Saturday that underlines our Champions credentials and gives us the ideal boost ahead of a massive week next week.

Any player will tell you they prefer playing games than training, and a midweek Big Blue next Wednesday will certainly put a spring in the step of all the boys.

We’ve won our last seven consecutive games against Melbourne and I don’t see that changing next Wednesday night at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.

We’ve enjoyed plenty of success at Kogarah and I’m hoping for a huge crowd to back the boys. We need your support more now than ever, with three points the perfect boost ahead of another massive Sydney Derby the following Sunday.

First things first, we have Western United in Ballarat on Saturday. It’s an early kick off and we’re all looking forward to the clash.

I trust you’ll all be watching on TV and cheering us on before we return home.

I look forward to seeing you all next week!

Sydney FC Captain
