Captain’s Column: Big Games, Big Results

Hi Everyone, hope you’re all well.

It was a big result on Tuesday night and we’re all happy to walk away with the three points after a couple games where I thought we deserved to win but weren’t able to take the points home.

It was a fully deserved victory against Melbourne, we really took the game to them keeping possession high up the field and that payed off early with Bobô’s goal. I think we were very unlucky not to score a couple more goals but their ‘keeper Acton really kept Melbourne in the game until the final whistle.

Even with a mid-week game, there was still a great turn out from our Members and fans which is always such a boost for the lads.

The boys and I were straight into recovery on Wednesday, we’ve got a massive Sydney Derby coming up on Saturday. It’s always a big game regardless of the ladder so we’ve got to make sure we’re match ready and go out there and claim maximum points and bragging rights.

Playing at Bankwest never feels like an away game, we’ve got plenty of support out there which is nice and we really appreciate everyone who makes the trip out west to support the team.

Obviously coming into the business end of the season, it’s really important we make the most of every game. We’re still in the running to go back-to-back-to-back and that would be an incredible feat for not only us as a team but for our Members and fans.

We’ve got another couple days of preparation for the big derby and hopefully we can build off Tuesday’s game, score some goals and show that Sydney is Sky Blue.
