Brosque hat-trick secures win for Sydney

Sydney FC has added to its impressive trial form, with an Alex Brosque hat-trick carrying the Sky Blues to a comfortable 3-nil win over the Sydney Tigers on Wednesday night at Leichhardt.

What could be the quickest hat-trick in club history secured an impressive 3-nil victory for Sydney FC on Wednesday night, with Vitezslav Lavicka-s men sweeping aside a committed Sydney Tigers team to claim the third straight win of their pre season campaign.

Like last week in Bankstown, Sydney-s late Autumn weather wasn-t kind but the persistent rain didn-t stop more than 3,300 fans from turning out at Leichhardt, and it didn-t affect the form of Alex Brosque, who proved unstoppable at Lambert Park, finding the net three times inside the first ten minutes to leave the Premier league side reeling.

Brosque-s first came shortly after kick off when he volleyed sweetly from a well-timed Adam Casey cross, and he was in again a few minutes later, punishing the Tigers- keeper for an error by firing a curling shot into the back of an empty net, from distance.

The 25-year old was clearly in a class of his own, and when young striker, Chris Payne skilfully beat two defenders before laying the ball off, Brosque was always going to be on target with the finish to collect his third.

After the initial onslaught, the Tigers began to play their way into the game, but Sydney FC looked fit and composed, and despite failing to add to its advantage before the break was well and truly in control of the contest.

The second half saw the injection of striker, John Aloisi and the marquee man looked sharp in his first hit out of the pre season.

The 33-year old came close with a header during his 30 minute stint, but in the end there was no addition to the half time score. There was no mistaking Sydney-s dominance, however, and the Hyundai A-League side had every reason to be satisfied with the 3-nil result.

After delivering their best performance yet for Coach, Vitezslav Lavicka, the Sky Blues- will play the fourth match of their packed pre season program next week against the Northern Tigers.

The clash with the State Super League side will be played on Wednesday night (June 3) at Mills Park in Asquith.
