Newly returned Sydney FC defender Pascal Bosschaart says he-s been delighted by the “quality players” the club has signed ahead of the 2012/13 Hyundai A-League season.
The Dutchman is back in Sydney after spending the last two and a half months recovering from Achilles surgery back home in Rotterdam, but he-s kept in touch with the comings and goings.
“I-ve read everything that Sydney FC tweeted and I know what-s been happening. I know we have a few new players and a new CEO,” he said.
“I think that-s good because we lost 6 or 7 players last year so we needed some extra, and I think they-re all quality players so I-m looking forward to meeting them.”
The 32 year old is happy to be back on Australian soil to continue his rehabilitation with the club, after the time off in Holland.
“It feels good, I-ve been away for two months recovering from my operation and I still have a few months to go but it feels good to be back. It-s winter and the weather is good so I-m looking forward to getting my recovery to the next level.
“It was fantastic to be back home and seeing the family for more than a few days, for me it was a perfect holiday.”
Bosschaart still has a few months to go before he is back playing but believes his recovery is progressing well.
“It [the Achilles] feels better than it was. It-s still a little bit painful but I think that is normal for this kind of injury. It-s not 100% yet but I think I-m getting there and hopefully I can make the beginning of the season.”
Bosschaart is hoping to resume jogging exercises by the start of next month.
