Young Sydney midfielder Terry Antonis is hoping to keep his 18th birthday celebrations to a minimum but says he might not have a choice.

Antonis will be in New Zealand when he turns 18 on Saturday preparing for Sydney-s game against Wellington the following day.

He remained coy when asked about any birthday plans.

“Nothing really just focused for the game and getting the three points,” said the 17 year old. “Just keep it quiet.”

Those three points against the Phoenix are the only birthday present the teenager wants from his team mates on Sunday, but he admits they might persuade him to let his hair down with a win.

“Maybe they-ll be pressuring me to go and have a little drink with them but for now I-m just focused on the game.”

Sydney FC play Wellington in a 2:30pm AEDT kick off on Sunday afternoon.
