Sydney FC-s marquee man Alessandro Del Piero says he is fit to play in Saturday night-s ‘Big Blue- at Allianz Stadium against Melbourne Victory.
After playing 30 minutes against Perth Glory last weekend, Del Piero believes he is back to full fitness and can see success ahead for the Sky Blues this season.
“I-m feeling good. I-m 100%,” Del Piero said.
“Being on the bench [last week] was good because I was not ok for a full game but I-m happy to be part of the team again.
“I-m confident and I have a good feeling about Saturday and the rest of the season.”
Head Coach Frank Farina is happy with Del Piero-s progress and says the Italian World Cup winner is likely to play.
“It was good to see him get through that 30 minutes,” he said.
“If he is fit he will start for us, there-s no doubt about that.
“Hopefully he gets through the next two days. Obviously he needs to still get through training tomorrow, that-s important.”
Looking ahead to the clash against the Victory, Del Piero laid out what the Sky Blues need to do in order to take the three points.
“It-s another tough game for sure. It-s a big rivalry and we are excited about that,” he said.
“We have to focus, run, fight and score. That-s all we have to do.
“For me every game we have to win. This is my mentality. When you first step on the pitch you have to think and do your best,” he continued.
“The first thing in your mind is you have to be positive and win.”
