The Sydney FC Academy have continued to show that their attitude and discipline on the pitch is the best in the country after they were awarded the Fair Play Award at the NPL’s showpiece event.
On Thursday night at The Star in Sydney, hundreds turned out for the 2023 Awards night and players from across the league in male and female were there to celebrate the season that was.
The Sky Blue Academy prides itself on development and this season was a season where that was front and centre. Across the 30 game season, they gave a first team debut to 21 different players under the age of 18 and a number of individuals were called up to junior national teams.
Overall, the Academy finished 6th in the NPL ladder, a great achievement for the young Sydney FC team, led by Jimmy van Weeren.
And throughout the season, their discipline and attitude on the pitch earned the NPL outfit the Fair Play Award.
