Sydney FC’s Academy Football Schools all joined together at the one venue for the first time on Sunday, celebrating our time at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium with a special march around the ground ahead of kick off.
Sydney FC’s Academy Football Schools all joined together at the one venue for the first time on Sunday, celebrating our time at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium with a special march around the ground ahead of kick off.
The students involved in the march came from the Year 7 and Year 8 program participants from Sydney FC’s five Academy Schools: Bossley Park, Crestwood High, Endeavour Sports High, Illawarra Sports High, and Narrabeen Sports High.
The Sydney FC Academy Football Schools program commenced operation in 2015 and is fully aligned and coordinated with the vision, philosophy and delivery of the Sydney FC Academy. The program at each school is delivered by highly-qualified, Sydney FC Academy-approved coaches in a full time year round training environment.
Academy Football Schools Manager Patt McCann said it was a fantastic day out fo all.
“This was a great opportunity to connect our Academy Football Schools with the first team,” he said.
“We now have over 450 players working full time at our five academy schools and this will be an annual event to welcome our new intake into the Sydney FC family.
“We have many players with the ability and ambition to succeed and giving them an opportunity to get on the pitch, watch the players warm up and celebrate another sky blue victory is one of the best ways to motivate them to work towards their goals.
“Our older players will have the opportunity to attend training with the first team later in the year and we are also looking forward to celebrating with the the W – League squad and attending a match early in the 2019/2020 season with our rapidly growing cohort of female players.”
