A healthy switch for Sydney FC

If you’ve taken a tour of Sydney FC’s website recently you might have noticed some subtle changes with healthcare provider HBA disappearing from the club’s list of sponsors and being replaced by MBF, but while the name has changed the relationship stays the same.

If you-ve visited Sydney FC-s website recently you might have noticed some subtle changes with healthcare provider HBA disappearing from the club-s list of sponsors and being replaced by MBF, but while the name has changed the relationship stays the same.

Following a recent merger between healthcare providers MBF and Bupa Australia, which owns and operates HBA, Sydney FC-s community program is undergoing a re-branding.

As one of the most prominent healthcare providers in New South Wales, the MBF brand has replaced HBA on the back of Sydney FC-s jersey, and MBF will also take over naming rights for the club-s growing community program.

The change is consistent with Bupa Australia’s commitment to promote its strongest brand in each State. The majority of HBA’s customers are located in Victoria and South Australia, whilst MBF is one of the leading private health insurers in Queensland, NSW, Tasmania and the Northern Territory.

The partnership between MBF and Sydney FC will continue to deliver coaching clinics and training sessions to encourage New South Wales children to become active through participation in sport.

Mark Engel, Bupa Australia Director of Marketing, said the program would build upon MBF-s existing support for a range of programs designed to get kids up and active.

“This program is all about creating opportunities for children to increase their activity levels, develop new skills, boost their confidence and have fun playing football,” he said.

Darryl Goodhand, MBF General Manager, NSW & ACT, added: “Now in its second year, the partnership with Bupa has already delivered some fantastic outcomes for the young people of Sydney and will continue to do so in the future under the MBF banner.”

The benefits also continue for Sydney FC members who-ve previously taken advantage of the partnership and purchased HBA policies. Nothing changes, and your cover will continue to operate as normal.

There are also new benefits available to club members as a result of the change to MBF. Keep an eye out for the MBF team at the round 5 home game against Adelaide United on September 20, where Sydney FC members will have the opportunity to talk to the MBF team about health cover deals on offer to members.
