Sydney FC ready for next shot at Glory

Sydney FC will return to the field this Sunday chasing another 3 competition points in their round 8 Hyundai A-League clash with the embattled Perth Glory.

When Sydney FC lines up against the Glory in Perth this Sunday it will go into the game as a clear cut favourite, but John Kosmina-s men learned the hard way against Wellington two games ago that there-s no such thing as a sure thing and they won-t be lowering their guard this weekend.

“We have to turn up ready to play,” said Kosmina. “Perth will be desperate, especially at home and if we don-t match their intensity and maintain our concentration we-ll probably pay the price.”

The Sky Blues have a great record against Perth, having fallen to only one defeat in nine meetings between the teams.

The first time the two sides played this season it was Sydney that took all the glory with a 5-2 result at the Sydney Football Stadium, and FC is confident it can again come away with the win.

“It won-t be easy, but we-ve had a good week at training and I believe the weekend off has done us good,” the coach explained. “We-ve set ourselves some goals over the next 4 games and it-s important that we do a job this Sunday.”

Sydney has suffered a late setback ahead of the match with keeper, Clint Bolton and Midfielder, Alex Brosque both ruled out of the round 8 clash through injury.

Ivan Necevski and Brendon Santalab are set to take their places in the starting eleven, and the Sky Blues remain confident they have the firepower to come home with the 3 points.

Sunday-s match kicks off at 5pm (AEDT) with live coverage on Fox Sports 1.
