Aloisi fires as Sydney FC tames the Tigers

In only his second appearance of the pre season Sydney FC marquee, John Aloisi has returned to the scoresheet, helping steer the Sky Blues to a clinical 3-nil win on Wednesday night in their friendly against State Super League side, the Northern Tigers.

In only his second appearance of the pre season Sydney FC marquee, John Aloisi has returned to the scoresheet, helping steer the Sky Blues to a clinical 3-nil win on Wednesday night in their friendly against State Super League side, the Northern Tigers.

After coming off the bench in the second half last week, the 33-year old striker started the game in Asquith, and after helping create the first goal he finished off the second to give his side a match winning lead at the break.

The latest stop on the Sky Blues- suburban tour was again greeted by rain but an excellent crowd of more than 2000 people ignored the damp conditions and the temptation of State of Origin to enjoy the rare spectacle of a Hyundai A-League side in action at Mills Park.

Sydney started with a strong lineup and always looked likely, and in the 25th minute Terry McFlynn provided his side with an inevitable opener, firing home a screamer from 25 metres out after receiving the ball from Aloisi.

Ten minutes later it was the marquee-s turn to find the net. Midfielder, Stuart Musialik worked hard to win the ball before passing to his striker, and when he found himself one on one with the Tigers- keeper there was only ever going to be one result.

Coach, Vitezslav Lavicka went to his bench at half time, with Aloisi among the players earning a rest. The changes didn-t affect Sydney-s momentum however, and it continued to control the contest, sealing victory when trialists, Kerim Bulut and Gustavo Latronico combined – Latronico cleaning up a Bulut cross to complete the scoring in the 73rd minute.

After recording their fourth straight friendly victory the Sky Blues will now turn their attention to next week-s trial against State Premier League side, Penrith Nepean United.

Sydney FC will be bolstered by the return of Young Socceroos-, Kofi Danning, Rhyan Grant and Matt Jurman for the clash.

The friendly will be played at CUA Stadium in Penrith next Tuesday night (June 9), with kick off at 7:30pm.
