Sydney FC excitement machine Kofi Danning has been nominated for the 2009/10 NAB Young Footballer of the Year award.

Danning, whose season was cut short after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury, has been an outstanding young player for Sydney FC and one of their brightest talents.

A crowd favourite, the eighteen year old scored a brilliant goal against the North Queensland Fury on the opening day of the season. His standout performances for the Sky Blues, particularly for that month led to his nomination.

The NAB Young Footballer of the Year is an award designed to recognise the best U21 player in the 2009/10 Hyundai A-League season. The award is also a great opportunity to acknowledge and reward the vital role that junior football clubs play in the development of today’s young stars.

Kofi was one of six players to be nominated by a panel of experts based on season performance. The winner will be announced at the Hyundai A-League awards on Monday 15th February. In addition to this prestigious crown, the NAB Young Footballer of the Year will be presented with a $10,000 personal investment portfolio thanks to NAB.
