Premier Kristina Keneally threw her support behind Sydney FC this morning ahead of the Sky Blues showdown against rivals Melbourne Victory at the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday evening.

Premier Keneally attended Sydney FC training where she was presented with her own official Sydney FC jersey by striker John Aloisi.

In what will be the biggest game in the history of the Hyundai A-League, Aloisi said that to receive support from the State-s leader will give the side a massive boost just days out from the clash that has everyone talking.

“It is not everyday someone such as the Premier comes to training, takes the time to meet with us and show their support so it will give us an extra boost,” Aloisi said.

“Our rivalry between Sydney and Melbourne is as big as it gets so it is great to see our Premier get behind us at such a crucial stage in the season.

“It was very interesting to hear about her love for football and her history playing the game in the United States as well as the high profile role she has as Premier.”

With State bragging rights also up for grabs, Premier Keneally said she was more than confident Sydney FC would be crowned A-League Minor Premiers.

“I-m sure there will be a huge home town crowd cheering Sydney on towards the title this weekend,” Ms Keneally said.

“Sydney and Melbourne are the two best teams in the competition and they enjoy a great rivalry in the A-League.

“With so much riding on this game I-m sure it will be a tremendous spectacle for fans that will live up to expectations.

“I wish the Sky Blues all the best for this massive match and encourage all of Sydney to get behind their push for the minor premiership and a spot in next year-s Asian Championship League.”
