Sydney FC goalkeeper Liam Reddy says the combination of a stellar week of intense training and the return of skipper Terry McFlynn and striker Alex Brosque has the Sky Blues fully prepared for Sunday afternoon’s showdown with Gold Coast United at the Sydney Football Stadium (3pm kick-off).

The match is the first of three crucial home games in eight days for Sydney FC and Reddy feels the return of the duo has given the team a huge confidence boost ahead of the clash.
“I think we will match up to them (Gold Coast) very well,” Reddy said. “Obviously we have Brosquey and Terry coming back so the team is very confident and hopefully we can get our first win of the year.”
“We-ve been training hard. It-s a very good mood in the camp and we all get on.
“We see that we are not to far away and hopefully we can turn the corner on Sunday. The work ethics there and we can see we-ve been training well, so hopefully Sunday will be it.”
Reddy said his prime target is to keep a clean sheet but he is also looking forward to seeing the impact of Brosque who has been out with an ankle injury since round two.
“The main focus is to keep a clean sheet but our attack looks good now with Bridgey and Brosquey and Bruno so hopefully we can keep a clean sheet and score a couple,” Reddy said.
“We-ve played some pretty attractive and good football in the attacking third in parts this season so hopefully we can do that on Sunday.
“Brosquey is coming back and that-s a good strength for us and getting Terry in the midfield will be good. Our weakness at the moment as team is conceding goals and making to many silly errors so with this next two weeks we can cut this out.”
Forecasts are predicting a sunny 23C for Sunday making it a perfect day for football.
