Sydney FC has agreed to the transfer of Qantas Young Socceroo midfielder Terry Antonis to Serie A club Parma after coming to an agreement with the Italian club on a strict payment structure of the agreed transfer.

Antonis departs for the U20 World Cup with the Young Socceroos on Tuesday (11 June) and then start his overseas career with the Italian club where Socceroos Vince Grella and Mark Bresciano plied their trade.

“We have come to an agreement with Parma that we are satisfied with and Terry can now look forward to the next chapter of his career,” said Sydney FC CEO Tony Pignata.

“Terry joined Sydney FC as a 16-year-old and has matured into a player that has been able to move to one of the best football leagues in the world where he can hopefully further develop his game and go on to serve the Socceroos for years to come.

“We wish him every success at Parma and for the rest of his career. We would love to have him back at Sydney FC one day in the future.”

Antonis played 39 Hyundai A-League matches for Sydney FC (scoring one goal) and still holds the record as Sydney FC-s youngest ever player when he debuted for the Sky Blues against Wellington in 2010 aged 16 years and 300 days.
