Sydney FC Academy graduate Ethan Dyer has been named in New Zealand’s 21-player squad for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026.
The selection will see Dyer represent the Junior All Whites on the world stage for the second consecutive year, having also featured in New Zealand’s campaign at the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Dyer is one of six players retained from last year’s squad, with New Zealand Head Coach Martin Bullock rewarding the youngster for his continued development and performances at Sky Park.

Another World Cup opportunity
New Zealand have been drawn in Group G for the tournament, where they will face Mali, Vietnam and Belgium in the group stage.
Their campaign begins against Mali on Saturday 21 November, marking the fourth meeting between the two nations at a FIFA U-17 World Cup.
The Junior All Whites will then take on Vietnam on Tuesday 24 November before rounding out their group fixtures against Belgium on Friday 27 November.
Dyer’s inclusion comes after New Zealand enjoyed success at the 2025 OFC U-16 Men’s Championship in the Solomon Islands, with 17 members of that victorious squad earning selection for the upcoming World Cup.
