Sydney FC’s Head Coach Patrick Kisnorbo trusts that his attacking weapons are on the right track going into the final two games of the season as the Sky Blues look to finish second on the Isuzu-UTE A-League ladder.
Kisnorbo took over the reins just over three weeks ago and is currently unbeaten having secured a 0-0 draw away to Brisbane Roar, and a tantalising 2-0 win against city rivals Western Sydney Wanderers last Saturday.
The 45-year old coach commended the side’s work in creating opportunities for their attacking stars, as the side came away with 14 shots against Wanderers, a significant improvement to their one shot against the Roar.

“The main thing is getting the ball there and getting their [the attacking players] positioning when it’s needed,” he said.
“If you create certain moments with chances in games ….. sometimes they might finish, but as long as they’re there, that’s the main thing.
“It’s up to us to get the ball where it needs to get to, and they’ve done a great job in two games.
“We want to continue that way and keep growing as a team.”
The A-League Championship-winning coach, who has recorded two clean sheets in his two matches at the helm, provided an injury update on defenders Marcel Tisserand (hamstring) and Alex Grant (hamstring), as well as winger Joe Lolley (ankle).

“I don’t have the exact date [of return],” the coach said.
“But, so far they’ve been tracking really well, and it’s great to see.
“Injuries are injuries, and you can’t rush them, especially [with] what they’ve experienced.
“They might not be on the pitch, but [they’re] showing great leadership within the club.”
Kisnorbo is eager to continue to uplift and maintain his side’s standards approaching the end of the season, not ruling anything out regarding selections.

“If you deserve [it] and you train well, you’re always in [for] selection. If you don’t, it creates an opportunity for someone else coming up.
“Part of that’s hard work, part of that’s belief, part of that’s trusting the process of trusting within each other.”
Patrick Kisnorbo and the Sky Blues look to create more chances at the top end of the field and continue their high standards against Perth Glory back at home this Saturday, kick-off 7:35pm at Allianz Stadium.
